The prospective parents/guardians are advised to visit the school campus before taking any decision about applying for their wards. Tours of the school are available at the following times:

Mode of payment

  • The Admission Fee / Annual Fee/ Quarterly Fee/ Transport Fee is accepted only by cheque / Demand draft / Net banking transfers. Online payment through School Pad, credit and debit card payment are active. A cash handling charge of Rs. 10 per 1000/- will be applicable on all cash submission.
  • The cheque payments and net banking transfers can be made up to the 10th of the due month without attracting late fine charges.
  • Post dated cheques are not accepted and will incur late fine.

Sibling Discount

The British School has the tradition of offering preferential admission to siblings of existing students. The siblings are accorded 10% discount on Tuition fee.

Admission for EWS category

As per RTE norms, The British School, Panchkula reserves 25% seats for students coming from the economically weaker section.

Parent Pick-Up

The school gates are kept closed during the bus dispersal time from 12:10 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. and will be opened only after the buses have left. Kindly reach school on time to pick up your child. A wait outside the school gates will inconvenience you.

Kindly submit a group photograph of your child with the persons authorized to pick her/him from the school along with a written note giving details of the authorized persons. Please remember that the children will not be handed over to unauthorized persons without prior intimation from the parents and proper proof of Identification. This is for the security of your child.

Fee Deposit

The school academic session is from April to March . The dues are to be deposited with the fee counter located in the school premises. Quarterly dues for the months are to be paid before or by 10th in the due month.

Admission Requirements

To register for admission the following need to be submitted:

  1. Duly filled registration forms
  2. Physical fitness report duly signed by a certified medical practitioner.
  3. Photocopy of immunization record (applicable for children till age 5).
  4. Photocopy of mark sheets/ transcript of grades of last two term exams.
  5. School leaving certificate from current school.
  6. Photocopy of passport, and OCI (if applicable).
  7. Payment of fee.

The Director reserves the right to decide the class in which the child is to be admitted.

Important Information

WITHDRAWAL

In case a child is to be withdrawn from the school during the academic year at least a month’s notice of withdrawals must be given in written by the parent/guardian. If child is to be withdrawn in the beginning of the following year, written notice must reach the Principal/Director before March 1 of the current year. Transfer Certificate can be issued only after the fee and dues have been cleared by the parents.

ATTENDANCE

Parents should appreciate that excessive absence from school on the part of child has an adverse affect on the child’s progress. A minimum of 75% attendance is required to ensure promotion to next class. The school seeks the active support and cooperation of the parents in maintaining the high disciplinary standards that will ultimately benefit the child.

LEAVE POLICY

  1. Leave will be sanctioned only against the prescribed leave application form in advance, except in emergencies.
  2. If Parents are unable to inform the school authorities in advance about leave required, it would be advisable to send a message through SchoolPad or e-mail and inform the front office well before 8:30 a.m. on the day to ensure marking in attendance register.
  3. Half Day: Once the child attends the school it is understood that he/she is well enough to stay in school the whole day. He/she will not be allowed to leave early. No half day leave will be allowed for any reason.
  4. Leave exceeding three days shall require prior sanction.
  5. Students who are absent on the first day of the new academic session will loose their seat unless a written application stating the reason of absence is submitted to the Director/ Principal at the time of report card collection.
  6. Leave of absence will not ordinarily be granted on the first and the last days of the term.
  7. Names of students who are absent for six consecutive days, without a written leave application will be struck off from the school rolls. Readmission will only be at the discretion of the Director /Principal.
  8. Students suffering from any infections or contagious diseases i.e. measles, chicken pox, cholera, mumps, whooping cough, eye flu, and swine flu should not be sent to school.
  9. If a child has suffered a serious physical injury e.g fracture, ligament tear etc which may hamper the child’s natural physical movement during school hours, a medical fitness certificate is required before the child can be allowed back in the classroom. Parent’s cooperation is required in all such cases.

UNIFORM AND STATIONERY

Details of uniform and stationery are given by the admission in-charge, once the child is admitted in school. The parents must collect the ‘House’ details and submit the third language option in Stage-3.

Transport facility

The school runs a limited bus service in the close vicinity of Panchkula, Chandigarh,Kalka, Pinjore, Amravati, Zirakpur, Dhakoli, and Baltana. The routing of the buses is dependent upon demand and is provided on a no-profit-no-loss basis. The school does not undertake to run buses to all the areas, and parents cannot expect the buses to be routed entirely for individual convenience though every endeavour is made to suit each family. Parents are requested to kindly wait at the Pick-Up /Drop Off points at least 5 minutes in advance. The details can be had from the school’s information office.

The school transport will be available for the students only if the transport fee has been paid. One way transport facility is available. Transport fee details can be had from the front desk.

Parents who wish to avail transport to collect the transport forms from the front office. The parents need to confirm bus stop, pick and drop timings from the transport supervisor.

Parents are required to read the transport rules carefully and fill up the transport form, if school transport is to be availed.

Parents who wish to pick up their school transport child personally on any day are required to inform the school desk at least half an hour prior to the dispersal time.
