aboutusThe British School is an “international” school rooted in Indian values. It aims to provide education with global standards. This will not only make students studying in the school eligible for higher education in the institutions across the world, but also give NRI’s settled abroad an opportunity to send their children to a school where they have a better idea of the social system back home. Many other such schools are already functioning in the southern states of India.

TBS Mohali follows the curriculum of The Central Board of Secondary Education popularly known as CBSE. CBSE is the governing body authenticated by Government of India to conduct the secondary and senior-secondary school examinations in India across 9000+ schools and 15+ countries. This board conducts final examinations every spring for All India Senior School Certificate Examination (AISSCE) for Class 10 and 12. It also annually conducts the AIEEE exam for admission into engineering and architecture and the AIPMT All India Pre medical Test for admission to major medical colleges in India. This means that most of the competitive exams in India are based on the CBSE syllabus.

The comprehensive and continuous evaluation (CCE) scheme is implemented in Stage 9 in accordance to the directives of C.B.S.E. This is envisaged to bring about the holistic growth of children helping them to carve into socially and professionally viable individuals. It needs the students to work hard right from the start, taking every class test and activity as an opportunity for self growth. The projects, assignments and worksheets play a pivotal role in adding up to their final results. The children discover the joy of learning by doing. The Assessment is both Formative and Summative. Formative Assessment (FA) is carried out during the course of instruction and provides continuous feedback to both teachers and students. Summative Assessment (SA) sums up how much the student has learned from the course and is therefore carried out at the end of a course of learning.
